"We have had our ViiV Fitness static contraction machine for about ten days now and I, who have been around the fitness industry for almost 50 years, am blown away by the spectacular results my clients have demonstrated in just 2 ViiV sessions.

Ten to 40% strength increases in real myofibril contraction force as a result of one workout (and we allowed for a learning curve). Exercises were: chest press, core pulldown, leg press, and a vertical lift(deadlift). Maximum exertions were 5-10 seconds.

The first workout established a baseline of strength and stimulated growth...and the second workout today, 7 days later, measured that growth and stimulated new growth for next week, 7 days from now.

This is the new paradigm. We have reasoned incorrectly that we want to increase strength by adding a lot of muscle and we will become strong and bigger. But our strength increases very marginal even when we gain a large amount of muscle...hence our power to weight ratio gets worse and worse. Most of the increased muscle size comes from storing more fuel in the muscle as opposed to increasing its contractile strength. Instead, we should be trying to maximally increase contractile strength while gaining little muscle mass from storage.

Bodybuilders are extreme examples of grossly overblown storage while remaining quite relatively weak in many cases. Ninety-nine percent of the work they perform does little or anything for real strength development.

I could go on and on about this and I will...but for now realize that if you are lifting weights, using machines or bands, running, swimming, or biking you are really missing the boat....expending energy for no good purpose, risking injury from overuse, never getting closer to the finish line."
